Introduction to derivatives

Introduction Derivatives are functions that are (as you can assume) derived from other functions. Derivatives tell you the slope (a.k.a. rate of change) of a function at a given point. For example, assume we have a function

$f(x)=\frac{x^3}{3}$ : The derivative of this function is

$f'(x)=x^2$ ....
